Christmas with Family
For Christmas, Alicia and I went up to Utah/Idaho to visit family. Since we used our free Southwest Airlines tickets, the flight choices were very limited. Both our departure and return flights were around 10pm, and the both ended up being delayed by about 2 hours!!! So, needless to say we were tired when be got there and exhausted when we got back.
It was so great to be with my family during Christmas! It was cute to see my nieces who made Santa some cookies and wrote him a little note. It was fun to go outside with them and sprinkle reindeer feed onto the fresh snow on top of the roof of the house for Santa's reindeer. It was hilarious to see my brother Anthony tape a halo made of tinfoil onto his shaved head in preparation for his role as the angel that appeared to the virgin, Mary. It was nostalgic to recreate the the true Christmas story and have my sister, Miriam, read the scriptures and follow the old Family Home Evening book as my mother used to do. It was inspiring to see all of the talent that my family members have during our small talent show (especially the synchronized swimming by Rachel and Alicia).
Barring the flight delays and the icy roads, this was one of the best Christmases I have ever had!

Silver for Thanksgiving
For Thanksgiving, Alicia and I visited her grandmother ("Nanna") and her Aunt Maxine and Uncle Ron in Silver City, New Mexico. We drove down I-10 through Tucson and then at Lordsburg, headed up north on Hwy 90 to Silver. In total, it was about a 4 and a half to 5 hour drive. Jimmy and Julie (Alicia's parents) were there visiting as well, so it was good to be around Alicia's family for this great holiday of Thanksgiving.
