2 Reunions in 1 Weekend

On July 17 I had my 20 year class reunion. It's hard to believe it has been 20 years! I was surprised at how many names I was able to remember, due to my terrible ability to remember names...even Alicia was impressed!

The next day (saturday) my brothers and sisters, their families, and my dad got together at Lava Hot Springs for our family reunion. It was so hot and there was no shade! I must have brought the AZ heat with me! Luckily my brother Brett brought a shade tent with him. My brother Anthony hooked Alicia and I up with a tent, sleeping bags, pillows, and an air mattress! Thanks bro!!! He even helped me put the tent up and the bed too!

My Aunt Karryn and Uncle Les stopped by to say hello and I'm so glad they did! It was great to see them again. My Aunt Karryn reminds me of my mother...so sweet and kind and my Uncle Les is hillariously funny. Their son Eric was there too with his wife and two kids. It was great to catch up with him and to get to know his family.

The Lava swimming pool was so crowded..in fact they said they had more people than the 4th weekend! So, we decided to float the river...we thought it would be like any other river floating experience, where you casually cruise down and dip your toes in the water. Oh no! It was shallow with sharp rocks and very swift! The first time down Alicia and I made a chain with my niece Bekkah and my nephew Spencer and everything went ok. The second time, we weren't so lucky! I didn't make it on my tube and it shot out from under me and before I knew it I was waving good-bye to my tube. My flip flops weren't too far behind. What was I to do without shoes and without a tube? I found an abandoned tube nearby and started down to catch up with Alicia and crew. After a small waterfall (which I overturned on) I saw Alicia, banged up from falling off the tube at the waterfall. We both tried to get back on our tubes to float the rest of the way, but instead got dragged on the rocks kicking and yelling "OW!" "Ugh!!!"...I tried to stand up to get to Alicia to help, but couldn't due to the force of the water, so I fell again onto the rocks. It was a disaster! We finally made it to the pick up area where the water calmed down, but not without vowing never to return. So long portneuf river.
